The Boss in his wisdom is sending me to China to inspect Manufacturing sites (blah, blah). My First trip to China :-D Fly to Hong Kong and cross at Futian into Shenzhen, Fast train to Taizhou, then Hefei. Car trip to Tongling, and then fast train to Qingdao. Fly back to Hong Kong and then home. All in eight days and 8 facilities to inspect - gonna need a beer here at the end TsingTao Beer[^] Any tips for a China novice?

I don't speak Idiot - please talk slowly and clearly "I have sexdaily. I mean dyslexia. Fcuk!" Driven to the arms of Heineken by the wife

When in Hong Kong... Try to get over to Lantau and visit the world's biggest Buddha. Also, do the Mid-Level Escalators on a Sunday if you can. You must have a go on the Star Ferry to Kow-Loon side and go shopping. Also a must...take the cable car up to the top of Victoria Peak and look down on the Island, a great view and some great food too. (Bubba-Gump Shrimp Company is good if you like shrimps)

Good luck in Shenzhen, even through you just need to catch a train. Was there 2 years ago for 5 days, didn't find a single person speaking any English. Or anything resembling English. LOL, had to Google a picture of KFC to show to our hotel front desk to get directions to it, and only got a few hand gestures to the KFC about 2km away

Never been to china but some of the creatures thrashing around in buckets outside shops in Chinatown, NYC, are certainly unknown to science

Fast train to Qindao is still going to take a really long time - and the restaurant cars on Chines trains are more often closed or the rules too arcane - bring plenty of snacks :-) The phrase you will need is "ting bu dong" which means I hear you but I don't understand - i.e. I don't speak Chinese.
