Over years I've heard 3 version for NT 1. N-10 === N-Ten, the codename for that version 2. Northern Telecom (Today Nortel), it has something to do with some patents that Microsoft used from NT in the low level 3. New Technology

Nope. We are prepared: we survived Javascript having nothing to do with Java.

For years, the joke was that NT stood for Nearly There. Oh, and that it was pure coincidence that the team who produced VMS came up with WNT.

The stupid lab assistant in college always said NT is for Networks. As he was running NT for servers & 95 as client machines. I later found it out by myself :) I'm sure Microsoft would be better off with Animal/Bird names name to make it easy for common people to understand. Like Mountain Lion or Tiger :) Or why to copy Apple, they can go Parrot, Crow, ^^

You'd be surprised at how many people think a hamburger has ham.

So where did you come to know about this line? I typed this myself years ago.Ditto. When I heard about LINQ. What I typed here in the lounge became so popular? :-O Or it's a beaten down common thought that almost everybody typed on their own. :) [modified text as it was typed like a drunk]
