I love sailing. My father and I (along with 2 other crew members) do a race every July with his Sabre 34. It's not a racing boat, but we get that hulking mass up to 8 knots if the wind is right. It's rated for 7. We've won the past two years and have a wonderful time everytime we do it. I'd love to crew on one of the Americas' Cup boats though. That would be a dream come true. Brigg Thorp Software Engineer Timex Corporation

As well as white water rafting, hiking and swimming :) I guess around the time of the Olympics swimming might get some discussions, but the other two are unlikely to get much of a mention often - no world cups :( Being married to a cricket crazy man, all I can say is thank goodness the world cup comes only once every 4 years :)

When is the Sailing World Cup? ;) It is indeed a wonderful past time. But it is a tad more out of reach to the average joe than say cricket, rugby or soccer is. I plan to own a yacht one day though. Absolutely awesome feeling.

I love sailing. Two summers ago I got to go out on a really good lake to sail an E-Scow[^]. Man was that blast, even the part where we almost capsized it due to not letting the sail out fast enough.:laugh: Most of my sailing time however, has been spent on the lake I grew up next to, on a little two person rig. Owning a big yacht or being a crew member in a pro race would be awesome. Chris Richardson You can stash and you can seize In dreams begin, responsibilities

I'd love to go sailing again one day! :-D The only time I've done it was just after 6th form - 7 of us and 3 teachers rented a 45ft yacht from Rhu Marina on the Clyde and sailed around the Isle of Arran for a week. We had a fantastic time! I can't believe it was so long ago - 1985! :omg: Anna :rose: www.annasplace.me.uk
