It is a greek word and unless time travel is real it has definitely not been coined by and Englishman. Cheers!

So he coined a special meaning of that word. So what? And if the dude wrote in Latin it still doesn't make Utopia a Latin word. It is a greek word, period!

From the same page in your link :

        Etymology [edit]

The term utopia was coined in Greek by Sir Thomas More for his 1516 book Utopia, describing a fictional island society in the Atlantic Ocean.

The word comes from the Greek: ο ("not") and τόπος ("place") and means "no-place". [1] The English homophone eutopia, derived from the Greek ε ("good" or "well") and τόπος ("place"), means "good place". This, because of the identical English pronunciation of "utopia" and "eutopia", gives rise to a double meaning

        So, Greek it is?

He took two Greek words and put them together to make a new word in a book he was writing in Latin. That makes it a Latin word with Greek roots.

What Chris said. It's like the English word Goulash which is derived* from the Hungarian word but it is still English. * Actually it's the bastard son of the bastard son of a bastardised transliteration from gulyas. Even the meal is a complete enbuggerement; it's a soup ffs and NOT a stew.

Considering the fustercluck going on north of the border, I am drawn to wondering what will be the new name for Scotland should the fishy friends gain a Yes vote. They of course will not just stick to Scotland because that's obviously a tainted name driven onto the land by the hateful English! So how about the Gaelic name Alba? Or better still "The Democratic Peoples Republic of Alba". There will be a nice little election giving the SNP 123% of the vote after which Alex will be named Immortal President and Nicola his Eternal Concubine. I'm kind of looking forward to watching this unfold; from a safe distance.

Don't even joke about it: he will probably be the next Tory PM after Dave Macameroon. And...he was born in New York, which makes him eligible to be President of the US as well. So, image this: Boris as life-PM and President, petitions the UK to let the US join the new Greater Britain and approves that himself. With that behind him, it wouldn't be difficult to take over control of the EU as well - allowing him to buy the whole of South America out of petty cash. Not a massive leap from there to total world domination (once Israel and the Islamic State have bombed each other back into the stone age, anyway). All Hail Our Glorious Befuddled Leader!
