If you only concern yourself with Weven, why try to bring my opinion down?

Excuse Me! The operating system is named WINDOWS 7! Using the correct/official name for an operating system is the most important thing in the world! ... Apparently.

Most other releases haven't been seen as a mockery of the current operating system other then Vista.

You obviously don't remember the mockery of Windows ME or XP when it was first released.

I say "Threshold, Threshold, Threshold, I am a name not a number!" On the Threshold of a Dream perhaps? When it's launched, I'll write in my Dear Diary on that Lazy Day "Lovely To See You Windows 9, but you need Send Me No Wine, To Share Our Love". In The Beginning, Microsoft missed their deadlines repeatedly, until we'd say "Never Comes The Day when the next version will be out". Are You Sitting Comfortably because September 30th will soon be here but, Have You Heard that it might not happen then? I hope that you can find it So Deep Within You to forgive all the speculation. The Voyage will soon be at an end and The Dream version of Windows will be upon us.

... of course, this has me in a reverie. I met a wonderful woman the week before her 18th birthday and gave her that album. Somewhat short-sited of me, as that meant we ended up with two copies. Saturday week that meeting will have been exactly 39 years ago and we've been married for over 36 of them.

Yes and yes, sorry forgot about ME. XP is a great example, because I too avoided it until I gave it a chance.

Congrats, in this day and age that is a rarity. With vinyl it's not a bad thing to have 2 copies, I've wore out so many that if I had the money I've spent on LP's I'd be well off.

Thanks Mike. I've started a process of ripping mine to WAV, cleaning up with CoolEdit Pro and saving to lossless WMA. I read a really cool tip on-line that I've yet to try. You put a couple of pieces of low tack adhesive tape on the edge of the album; coat the whole thing with a thin coat PVA wood glue, making sure that the entire surface is covered; leave to totally cure then peel off using the tape. The poster swears that it removes so much noise that the album sounds almost new. Of course, it won't repair scratches, but it seem that most of the noise is from fine embedded dirt!

hmm sounds like it might be worth a try but I just always used the trusty LP Cleaning Kit[^] and of course took good care of my LPs. The main thing I found was to always use a good needle and good turn table. Used to have a good sound system, but the one I have now haven't turned it on in over a year, everything I've got is on my PC.

The main thing I found was to always use a good needle and good turn table. Used to have a good sound system, but the one I have now haven't turned it on in over a year, everything I've got is on my PC.

I always used some variant of these cleaners. The most common one in the UK had a sponge pad covered in velvet. I've seen it claimed that these are great for "lighter" particles, but they'd spread the heavier and finer stuff around causing micro-scratches and then packing the crap in. I retire next April and one project is to retrieve as much stuff from my vinyls (and cassettes) as I can. In some cases, the only replacements I could find have been on YouTube and the quality isn't great.

If I can be of any help let me know, like if something you have is not good quality, etc.. I've got just under 2K CDs most in good condition and covers a broad range.

Thanks Mike. Look me up on fb if you like. I don't have my fb ID here (or password), but my name isn't one of the most common!
