Country Based Enimosity

Hatred based on grouping is the most irrational and ridiculous weakness of the human condition. Unfortunately it is part of our makeup. In prehistory, it probably served us well, distrust of the next tribe over was probably not a bad thing for the survival of our tribe. We are also adept at grouping together against a shared enemy. It can be seen as a kind of "proof by induction" feedback loop. In today's society, grouping are not as easily defined as back then. It might now be sex, sexual orientation, race or even sporting teams. When this hatred gets entrenched through generations it becomes almost impossible to break and membership of the enemy group is excuse enough for violence: Violence begets violence and on it goes. Fortunately there are many of us who are capable of rising above our baser instincts and there are usually laws in place for those that can't. When I was young, the main race hatred in Britain was against black people, mainly from the Caribbean. "Indians" were respected (they weren't that numerous) and they were "from the Empire". After waves of immigration and escalating Muslim tensions that hatred was turned against "Pakis" and everyone from the Indian subcontinent was caught in the latest waves of racism, regardless of ethnicity or religion. Some politicians were quick to jump on that bandwagon and stir up racial hatred. In my life, I've seen this same phenomenon in The Promised Land, Cyprus, Ireland, India, Australia, Africa, Eastern Europe and the U.S.. It seems my friend, as a species, we are doomed to continue committing the same mistakes. Peace!

I am certain you took some time typing this. I have lived in England and I have dealt with the "hatred" once. They were idiots. I had wonderful company at office and nearby restaurants. I was amazed why 3 goons(read retarded f*cks) hated me just because I was Indian (I can only guess). They probably had no rational doing so other than being a prick at local bar.

Klingons, I hate Klingons. Other than that I get along with everyone else.

On my way to school every morning, I used to pass a Hindu lady with a young child in a pushchair. We always used to smile and wish each other "Good morning". Simpler times!

Redundant. :^)
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

I'm not much of a trekky, but something tells me that, the experience of, inter breeding with Klingons may be similar to what a male Mantis experiences after mating.

I have always being fascinated with this. Coming from India, we are presumed to hate people from Pakistan. However, every single time I have met a Pakistani, it has been a pleasure. I do not want to go into politics or anything else. A simple question: As a normal Indian citizen, I have no hatred against any normal Pakistani citizen. Have you ever felt severe hatred against an entire nationality? If yes, why? And if not, what is the most ridiculous stereotypical hatred you are expected to show? No politics and religions please. Straight up answers. If you want a discussion, we can always go to Backroom.
I hate prejudiced people: they are all the same !

Makes no sense to me. Most countries are delimited by artificial lines drawn by someone, even where natural lines exist people were mostly crossing them before they became national borders. I went to university in Leicester, a city in England with a large Asian population. I know people beaten up for being Asian, people beaten up for being white, and people beaten up for being students. Someone threatened me with a bottle in a bar for wearing the wrong football shirt. And one lad in my class (who happened to be Asian) was stabbed around a dozen times by someone who wanted to steal his car, although I don't think that was race related. Some people are massive dicks, they will always find a reason for hating someone, race or nationality is simply an easy and obvious one.
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

I have always laughed :haHa: in the face of these prejudices. Due to being of such mongrel nationality I qualify as a bloody foreigner in every sovereign state upon this planet; Singapore born to Irish/Scot parents, Dad was born in KL, my brothers both born in Germany, I'm married to a damn commie Hungarian type and I will be receiving Hungarian Citizenship soon. Where am I from? Bob alone knows.

Never against a nationality; just a word to describe temporary piss-markings and priviliges of the group within that territory.

Putin. In so far he made some (near) wars shorter, where the nobel-price winner for peace started some.
