I've had it for about 20 years, but at least it gone to a friend who is going to tidy it up back to show condition. Now my man shed looking a bit bare. So I might look for another classic bike. Not British this time, maybe jap. Any ides? And please don't mention hardly movingsons

awesome bike, but I'd never find one here. Not sure if they ever made to New Zealand. That and the Lamborghini will just have to stay in the dreams.
An old friend of mine recently tried to do Route 66 on his Vincent HRD Rapide Series A. He broke a conrod about half way and the bike is now in a friend's workshop somewhere near Toronto. He paid a little over a million dollars for it.

Norton something or another....... I can't remember which exact model, all I remember was it was a Norton and it was black with lots of chrome, one of my pals at work restored one, and it did look 'classic'. I'm not a biker so couldn't tell you the specifics, that's why I can't remember what model it was.

Many, many Nortons were black, and even more had chrome...does "Commando" ring any bells? When the engine was running on the centre stand, did (most) of the bike stay still and the engine bounce up and down like a mad thing? If so, it was probably a Commando of some variety. (Good bikes, I had a few of those: 850 MkIIIs)

Not a joke. How about Royal Enfield[^]? They never stopped making them, they kept on building them in India and have kept on refining the old construction for daily use in India, and nowadays they just work. Well, that was at least true fifteen years ago. I had a friend in my hometown that had one that he used everyday no matter the weather, and it simply just worked.

They never stopped making them, they kept on building them in India and have kept on refining the old construction for daily use in India, and nowadays they just work. Used to be a commercial for Kawasaki "Put something exciting between your legs" always a good selling point!

Yeh, think he early 40's. He was a non-smoker, didn't really drink, fitness fanatic and his ticker just gave up one day at home. Just goes to show, you just don't know when your numbers up, (just like the other guys I worked with lately!)

I like the look of the Royal Enfields too, but then Harley came out with some small cafe-raceresque bikes this year.

I find the rear lights quite ugly, but on the battle green version I can live with that.
