Any recommendations? All I know is that I want an Android phone with an okay camera (at least 8 megapixel) and not to expensive (which is subjective, of course). I'm not very gadget savvy and all these phones are making my head spin... Samsung, LG, Huawei, HTC, Motorola, Acer... :wtf: Of course I'd rather just buy Nokia, but I've had it with Windows Phone. It looks nice, it works well, but it doesn't have the apps I want and Google's decision to not support synching on Windows Phone has made it pretty useless for me...

Try the Motorola G 2nd generation. 5 inch screen, dual sims and you can add an micro SD card up to 32Gb. All for £144 quid from Amazon in the UK.

Looking pretty good. Compared it to the S4 and I might even go for that one... As it seems everything is better than my current phone though (Nokia Lumia 800)

I understand your frustration. You're stuck with windows phone 7, as I was (Lumia 900) and I can assure you that you would be pleased with Windows 8 phones (I currently own a Lumia 920). There are many (really, many) more apps and they are much better; the OS is much better. There are very cheap choices of windows phone. The Lumia 920 itself is very cheap now (as the current flagship is the 930) and the camera is great. Is there any app in particular you think you won't find in windows 8?

The apps everyone knows about aren't the problem. Sure they all have Whatsapp (basically the only app I use), and probably some other apps I like, like IMDb app, Dilbert app, 9GAG app... It's the small apps, like a few weeks back when I was going for a walk. There was an app for walking routes in that area, but it was only available for iPhone and Android. It's those kind of apps that I'm missing on Windows Phone, simply because the smaller niche market isn't focusing on Windows Phone.

I would second the OnePlus One Had mine a few months, outperforms most other flagship phones for less than 1/2 the price. Was a bit hard to get hold of, not sure how easy now but worth the effort.

Really, do they advertise? I haven't noticed since I have adblock on my PC and I never got an ad on my phone either. All I know is they have the best search engine around (Bing isn't even close!), they have a pretty sweet free email service, they have a pretty good browser that does everything I expect from a browser and they are the biggest player in the mobile phone market. Am I concerned about privacy? They're probably not as bad as Facebook (what I don't have)... The alternative is Apple (iPhone, Safari, do they have a search engine and email service?), but I'm not an iDiot who buys mediocre overpriced stuff because it has some brand. And then there's Microsoft, but as said I've had it with my Windows Phone, Bing and IE suck, I'm not sure they take my privacy any more serious than Google, and Outlook is pretty nice, but doesn't offer some of the features I like about Gmail. Other tech giants like Facebook or Amazon don't offer phones, search engines, free email, a browser... At least not that I know of. So yeah, I decided to just switch to Google... To bad there isn't much in terms of alternatives.

What do you expect for 142 quid! It's a bargain. Anyway, let's get real about this, if the phone doesn't have decent optics, it don't matter squat how many pixels it's got, it'll still produce a crap image. How you can tell whether a phone has good optics? - now there's a question - wish I knew!

I somehow assume that if a phone has many megapixels it can produce good photo's. One thing is for sure, if the camera sucks the pictures will suck :D

I never miss a bargain! (Except that one on the Motorola with 5mp camera)

                                    It's camera is only 5 megapixel. I want at least 8. So that's a no :)

I've just looked on Motorola's website and their rear facing camera is 8M pixel, so not sure where you got the idea it was 5. http://www.motorola.com/us/Moto-G-2nd-Gen/moto-g-2nd-gen-pdp.html[^]

Found it on a Dutch compare website... Perhaps I read it wrong? Anyway, I went for the Samsung Galaxy S4. A bit more expensive than I had in mind, but it's a nice phone :)

I suggest you LG G2: good screen 5.2 inch (full HD), and good camera (13 megapixel) Or LG G3, but it's expensive and the screen size is big: 5.5 inch (2560 x 1440 QHD)
