    Latest End User Story: Had a user who wanted to confirm a change to a benefits setting in human resources. I suggested that she go to the human resources site, look up the contact information there, and then send them an email. She wanted to know where to do that and started to look for a way to connect to a website in Outlook. The sad part is that she has one of those light weight LCD monitors which means I couldn't toss it through the 3rd story window and throw myself to certain death - no, I had to stand there and break out in a cold sweat, worrying about humanity. I miss those old CRT monitors. Now if you want to commit suicide by jumping out a window you have to throw yourself against the window repeatedly - you'll bruise yourself and throw out your arm but you'll never get through it.

    Safety glass, a tragic waste of technology! :)

    New version: WinHeist Version 2.1.0 Beta There's a fine line between crazy and free spirited and it's usually a prescription. I'm currently unsupervised, I know it freaks me out too but the possibilities are endless.

          That story about the doctor was really tragic to read.

              (Dangit, I can never remember the "Mostly Harmless" part about why office workers must be able to open their windows, no matter how high.) Edit: Chapter 12, pages 136-139 -- the Great Ventilation and Telephone Riots of SrDt 3454.

              1. Start a new email 1) Type the URL. 2) Press return. 3) The URL should become a link. 4) Ctrl-Click the link.

              My dad once saved the life of a window cleaner on the 19th floor of a building whose cleaning rig had collapsed because he had taken in an Allen key to allow him to open the window fully when they weren't supposed to be able to.

                That's why the Egyptians built pyramids instead of skyscrapers: you can't jump off the buggers!

                  That's a point: can you still add web-sites to the "active desktop"? What a complete waste of development time that was -- although nowadays, with web-apps abounding, I suppose it might have some small use.

                      The thing I loved about CRT's was the possibility that some kind hardware soul just might give me the capability of connecting the high voltage supply in the CRT directly to the keyboard, under software control. User-friendly my ass; I want user lethal.

                      Software Zen: delete this;

                        The thing I miss the most about CRT's is the degauss function after a good magnet session.
