Protesters are protesting. Rioters are rioting and looters are looting. They are not the same thing. An excuse can be a convenient one if you want to be an asshole.

Because the difference is night and day when in training / practice compared to being in a real life-threatening situation where adrenaline is high. Same thing as being in a fight really. All the practice in fight class, it helps, but nothing still compares to the real thing.

I always like it when people describe what a tolerable (or even legal) reaction is to a violent situation. Like when you're supposed to stop, or how many times you can hit when retaliating. It's always very apparent that those people haven't ever been in a violent situation.

They keep trying to warn people that smoking is seriously bad for your health and can cause an early death. Don't remember seeing a pack with a death by cop warning on it though.

I know that, but the justification that made it ok was him being a criminal. The criminal act was over cigars. Thus the cigars were the "supposed" catalyst for the happy trigger time justification that started the whole mess in the first place, without which would've made this wrong according to the OP. As such, his point regarding that and the pursuit death was over the cigars. Come on man, common sense. Everyone knows what's meant by that, duh.

The specific criminal act was robbery, and if you watch the store video, he really asserted himself over the clerk. People used that situation to assume he was in the "thug life".

Never said he was an upstanding citizen. I'm saying assumption and bias is not a reason to be ok as a justification for assuming he's a piece of sh*t that deserves what he got. There's no humanity in that. It's not like he killed someone. Let's be real.

I don't have a racist bone in my body, and I'm an educated and reasonable guy.... This whole Ferguson situation isn't about race. Race had NOTHING to do with it. Here are the FACTS, and apparently, the grand jury and the evidence agree... 1. Michael Brown goes into a store and commits a strong arm robbery. 2. Call goes out to police. 3. Officer Darren Wilson spots brown and confronts him. 4. Brown attacks Wilson and Wilson defends himself. 5. Brown died in the commission of a felony. I have ZERO sympathy for thugs who commit crimes and die in the process, white or black. JUSTICE WAS SERVED!

The cop wasn't aware of the robbery. He was merely trying to get Brown and his friend to walk on the sidewalk instead of the middle of the street.

I'm basically with you - But I also often hear people being shot multiple times by cops. I'm an Air Force Sergeant, and from my (and my instructor's) experiences I can tell you that you don't need to shoot someone multiple times, once they're hit they are unlikeable to be dangerous. If cops need more than two shots to bring someone down they aren't racist, but in need of more training at the gun. I can hit an area of 2 square inches over a distance of 27 Yards, why shouldn't a cop be able to do the same?

Cops aren't trained to the level that the military is (unless they take it on themselves to train and practice. Besides that, shooting a target at the range is COMPLETELY different than shooting in a defensive situation. If you don't have the training, your shooting will generally suck balls.

He stole a box of cigars. I'm not saying he didn't deserve punishment, but being completely ok with killing him over cigars makes you no less heartless than the criminals themselves.

No, he WASN'T killed over a box of cigars. The cop wasn't even aware of the freakin' robbery. He was shot because he tried to take the cops gun during the first part of the encounter, and then came back for more.

Not according to the news story I read. The cop already knew to be on the lookout for a criminal and suspected him. Either way, none of us really know what went down. We weren't there. All I've been saying is have some damn respect for human life. The OP showed none.

Regardless of whether the officer knew of the robbery or not or even suspected Mr. Brown of said robbery, the fact is Mr. Brown was killed for attacking the police officer and attempting to take from him his gun. He was not killed for stealing cigars.

oooohhhh...Sig 220! Purty thang! I settled for a Glock 30 because of price (I paid a little less than half the MSRP of the 220) and the ten round double stack. It's ugly as a brick, but works fine, should last long time.
