A Christmas Carol ...the old one with Alistair Sim or the newer one with George C. Scott. ...you would think a guy with 'Ebenezer' in his name would know that :)

The Albert Finney[^] version was quite good.

The 2 Greatest Christmas movies ever: 1. A Christmas Story - favorite quote "You'll shoot your eye out." 2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - "Oh, Eddie... If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now." Great stuff

"Muppets Christmas Carol" - probably one of the best interpretations of the novel (and surprisingly close to the book)

How do you know so much about swallows? Well, you have to know these things when you're a king, you know.

Went through the entire list and, finally, near the end, "A Christmas Story". Big second on that. We watched the Smurf version of A Christmas Carol the other night and "It's Christmas, Charlie Brown!"

TBH we don't watch broadcast tv anyway. We do now own a tv, but only watch DVDs or movies through the puter. Just the other night I was talking about M&W and the famous Andrew Preview show. We ended up watching the whole '71 Christmas Special.

Romantic comedies (sigh, I'm becoming sort of an expert): Love actually The Holiday [this one is really nice indeed, there are Jack Black and Kate Winslet] Comedies: Nightmare before christmas Christmas on Bear Mountain [ok it's a cartoon, still :-O] ADD: In Italy, every f*cking Christmas, they air - Trading places [Gollum voice]I hates it, but hey, it's comedy :D

Two more Rom Coms, my two favorites. (If you are becoming an expert, bonus points for you!) I feast on these by myself. I could have company, I suppose, but I pick my battles compromises carefully. ;) The Family Stone Bridget Jones' Diary I think I will check out The Holiday too, having just spent Thanksgiving at my folks house where my kids watched "School of Rock" on a loop and I got hooked myself.
