"The message to the 350,000-strong Iraqi army from leaflet bombs dropped by aircraft and airborne radio broadcasts is simple: Surrender or die." http://washingtontimes.com/national/20030319-85008636.htm[^] "The propaganda effort may pay off once war starts, but the Iraqi army already is demoralized, U.S. officials said." This "war" will be like taking candy from a baby. Later,

May I be picky again? Who grants the US the right to propaganda Iraq this way (it's already going on for days, if not weeks, mind you)? Imagine ANY country (be it Canada) to drop leaflets near an US Army base, recommending them to surrender.

Absolutely. That's why tonight I'm not going back home. On the way there I could witness a car wreck where people die, or even worse, I could die in one myself. Death is such a horrible thing! We should outlaw knives and baseball bats, and of course guns, and cars... oh the horror! ;P Regards, Alvaro

Imagine ANY country (be it Canada) to drop leaflets near an US Army base, recommending them to surrender. I agree that it is very arrogant. But, if you can accept the preface that W and Co. were going to have this war regardless of UN and other diplomatic avenues, it seems reasonable. They are offering people a way to avoid fighting. Also, I think that propaganda has been used in military theaters for a long time now. Maybe we are just seeing an evolution of that. BTW, I am assuming your question was rethorical. We know that all hell would break loose. The word abbreviation is awfully long for what it means.

Nobody knows, but there's a possibility that Iraq defense lines just surrender when seeing the first US helmet. Wouldn't it be possible to see first if the Iraqi Army collapses, before dropping thousands of bombs and missiles on the cities?

Moreover, it would also solve the problem of turkish troops in iraqi Kurdistan.

Invading a country for a "might" is perhaps for you a good reason, it's not in my opinion.

I might get in an automobile accident, thats a bigger "might", and the reason I wear a seat belt. It doesn't keep me from driving but I try to manage the risk. Sadaam Hussein has used WMD and still has them. Terrorists have actually been found to be investigating using chemical weapons (in Afghanistan). The idea that SH "might" use WMD (its already happened) or "might" give them to terrorists is to large of a "might" for someone who wishes to truly be free. If I was still young enough to re-enlist in the military, its something I could fight for. So yeah, its a big enough "might" for me. Uptight Ex-Military Republican married to a Commie Lib - How weird is that?
