OK, guys... We talk about war the whole day (night). And I got a question for all o`ya. I live in Russia, where people can`t change a thing. I mean - there`re pacifist demonstrations all over the world - not in R. People voted for peace - not here. We like peace and we like freedom - out country won`t let us to give it. Can you tell me - is it possible in YOUR country to manage political system, police, health systems and so on? Or the world`s such a piece o`s*it and nobody`s able to achive a thing? is it possible in YOUR country to manage political system, police, health systems and so on? Not here in the US. The lawyers and speech writers control everything. Change has become impossible. The democratic system has become mired in the molasses of special interest groups, lawsuits, lobbyists, and money grubbers. No one cares anymore. Everyone is out for themselves. And they use democracy to justify their own personal gains, instead of a vehicle for promoting the betterment of all. Yes. A small group of people can change things at a local level. A larger group at the state level. A very large group at the national level. You see it everyday in action here in the U.S. Over in Cobb County a small group of stupid people actually were able to open the door for creationism to be taught in public school. :rolleyes: Take a look at the environmental groups or AARP (American Association for Retired People). They are able to change laws to their favor. The problem a lot of people get into is this mindset that if the laws are in their favor, then those were the logical laws and all is right with the world. When the laws are for things they don't like, they see it as a great evil lobbying effort by the other side. The truth is that both sides have their lobbying groups that try to make sure their ideals are the ones the get implemented. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.

Here in the US, it is possible, but you have to be loud, persistent, and have others who are loud and persistent on your side. That is especially true on the local or state level, where people seem to care more. Many states and localities have public referendums on issues... You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose.

I don't know if I could deal with Donald Duck being the president. Think about it. First, he doesn't wear any pants. If you thought Clinton had problems... at least he wore pants! Second, the boy has a TERRIBLE temper! You don't want someone like that with his finger on the 'NUKE' button, do you? I'd be more inclined to vote for Mickey Mouse. He's calm, and has charisma.
