Well, I was on vacation for the last two weeks of the year and just put in my two weeks yesterday. Already have a new gig lined up, less twiddling my thumbs and more doing stuff and solving problems. So I've missed the past couple of weeks of banter but this morning I got something in my email that I felt was important to share... Grim Fandango has been remastered and is being released via GOG late this month. Available for preorder at just $15. One of the best point and click adventure games made with plenty of humour. It is right up there with Maniac Mansion, Zac McKracken, and Monkey Island for quality and enjoyability in my opinion. While they didn't add anything new, they did make the graphics more attractive and redid the score with an actual orchestra. $15 for some high quality nostalgia is worth it to me. If you haven't played it, well I feel like you owe it to yourself if you grew up during the age of King's/Space/Hero's Quest and other point and click adventures. This ends the morning's advert. Please return to your regularly scheduled mindbending.

I'm still waiting for the (impossible) Quest for Glory VI, or at least a remaster of QfG V. I loved that game and I still do, occasionally fighting against Win7 to make it run again. And I put DosBox at good use with the King's Quest series, Wolfenstein 3D and Prince of Persia II, games that influenced my childhood...

I am rubber You are glue (Sadly, that's the only one I can remember) Have recently replayed Discworld Noir - found I could hardly remember anything about it, so it was like a new game. Regards, Stewart

That was one of the "oh damn, I haven't got a riposte for that yet" responses that meant Guybrush lost!

Yep - that's why it's sadly, otherwise I'd be duelling with real insults

"En garde! Touché" "Oh, that is so cliché..." But what I loved most... The Pirate Song! "A pirate I was meant to be, trim the sails and roam the sea!" ... "We'll surely avoid scurvy if we all eat an orange." "Ehhh..." "Doorhinge?" "No, no..." "Well, that's it. Back to work." "Gee, I feel a little guilty now." :D

The first one took the mickey out of the Kings Quest games, which had a horrible bit walking down a hill path, where a single tiny misstep killed you. So it was Save. Step. Save. Step. Die. Load. Step. Die. Load. Step. Die. Load. Step. Die. Load. Step. Save. Load. Step. Die. Scream. Load. ... [edit] Auto correct... :sigh:[/edit]

I'm sorry to say that it looks like a case of them as can, create; them as can't, remake.
