Best Anti Virus For Windows 7

Hi All, I hope you all are fine. I am looking for an anti virus for my PC. I was using free version of Avast for the past one year. It will expire in 3 days. Can anyone please suggest me a good anti virus for my Windows 7 laptop ? I don't mind even if it is paid one. I hope this is the right forum to ask this question . I would suggest Kaspersky. It keeps getting top scores in tests in the most renowned IT-magazine in Germany (" c't "). I don't have any anti virus software on my system besides MS Security Essentials but when I'm called by friends to clean their Windows PC I'm installing the free demo of Kaspersky and until now it always got the job done.

Continuing from where manchanx left, Kaspersky it is. Available in India for about Rs. 1000 for a 3 PC 1 year license (for online purchase). Real protection, affordable price. Have been using it since about 2010, renewing it year on year.

No, sorry, I have no experience with BitDefender. All I can tell you is that in the most recent test in the c't-Magazine (which was comparing the efficiency of protection against trojans specifically) it was in the middle of the pack.

Yes - check on Flipkart, Infibeam, Amazon India, etc. Also available in shops - check the computer supplies shop near your place.

Kaspersky is the best company: since decades they have only top positions at various tests and also good performance. Or Bitdefender, but Avast is also Ok. But never ever Norton, or the crappy Microsoft solutions.

I second Richard's suggestion of MSE and would add running Malwarebytes(the free version) once a week for peace of mind.
