don't you love the beeb, one out of three presenters is suspended so they cancel the whole show, now that's what I call looking after your customers Clarkson should claim to be a paedophile then the beeb would have given him a primetime show on bbc1 for the next 40 years

I used to like Top Gear, I really did. But it became less about the cars and more about the presenters, and now at its zenith it has become self parody. I would be tempted to question if they could get away with dropping Clarkson and re-booting the show as a program about *gasp* motoring! As for a replacement show, Genghis Khan's Top Slaughters would be less offensive then showing Jezza. :-D

I think there is a clone of it called Fifth Gear. It is still all about the cars, still quite enjoyable. I will watch that for the motoring, Top Gear is for the comedy.

top gear was about "cars" and bombed, the beeb cancelled it and the presenters moved to channel five and started Fithgear, and look at the world wide coverage that gets. people don't want 20 minutes on the latest family saloon, they will either look up the spec and reviews online if they are in the market for one or shock horror go test drive one themselves people like to see cars that most will never own driven like we would like, and this combined with the batter you used to get in the pub makes for entertainment but the hand wringing gardinista hate that and if we have to put up with those muppets Milliband and Brand then give me Clarkson anyday

Clarkson was the repressed every man. He realised that played on it for all he was worth now all three Top Gear presenters are paridorys of them selves. At times I agree with Clarkson, Then realise what I am thinking and need a shower! It's often the way things are said rather than what is said....

Yes I agree, Clarkson is a sensationalised version of everyone and ascribes to all stereotypes, which we all find funny in some way or another because there is little truth in them.

You must have stopped liking it in the second series then. As far as I can see it was just a rebrand of Clarksons Car Wars, with a nod to family motoring now an d then.

I see, that despite lack of information, you have made up your mind on the circumstances involving the incident, how wonderful that you can say with such clarity what occurred, you must write for the Guardian (who were howling for his resignation last night) we get you don't like him but having such a knee jerk reaction to an incident that has so little details made public kinda says more about you than it does Clarkson ps Clarkson denies striking anyone and the Beeb have only said their was a fracas so this is all conjecture at the moment so I am holding judgement until actual facts are known and not what unconfirmed "sources" are saying especially as certain leaks of un broadcast footage where done obviously to discredit Clarkson, it would seem to me that attempts to unseat him by factions with the beeb is not beyond imagination
