Is a void function going to the toilet and expecting nothing in return?

I would say it's quite the opposite. A void function needs not go to the toilet as it can consume anything without return.

But if a void function doesn't do some I/O what is it's purpose? What if the function of the function is voiding?

Depends on whether you flush() before return?

Wanted to return true, but there was a string return instead of a bool ...
