You're making one heck of an assumption there. You have no way of knowing who downvoted you, so accusing someone of doing it is a pretty daft thing to do.

Ah, I see. I don't think their post was worthy of a down-vote. I didn't see it at spam or abusive. Silly, yes, but not abusive. :sigh:

I agree. That said, I think that whoever marked that as spam/abusive is abusing the system. It's a bizarre post for sure, but not abusive nor would I call it spam.

Most definitely. I have seen a lot worse on here - most of it just gets ignored.

Just a note for the future - this type of post tends not to go down too well in the Lounge. Most of the lounge residents are jaded and have little time for thoughts such as this.

On what basis, Guys this is spam. I think in this forum there are worlds best programmers are there.they code without thinking and they doesn't dream also about it.

While I agree with you that this post does not deserve any report, I think this statement is pretty much far fetched. The reason 10 reports are needed to delete a comment is exactly because any member is entitled to its opinion, and if he/she has the authorization to report something he sees as abusive or spam he has the right to do so - the other solution would be to eliminate altogether the report functionality and leave the ban power only to the appointed moderators. On a final note I understand why the post is being reported: it has no content, it is just a single statement with no value at all, no meaning, nothing - very borderline, IMHO.

I started my sentence with 'I think', so I was really voicing my opinion too. If I made these rules, I'd do it slightly differently from how Chris is doing them today. But it's not my site, so well :-)
