I'm sure you're referring to the dialect spoken in The Netherlands, because here in Belgium, (where they speak proper Dutch, ... euh mostly), the V is pronounced as in verdict, vixen, vice, vermin and, of course, V. :-D PS: Hemelvaart is on May 14th ...
