I have a TI99-4a from around '82 still in the box. I haven't turned it on in over 15 years, but the last time I did it worked fine. I quit using it when the cassette interface gave out, meaning I couldn't save/load programs anymore. If I recall correctly, my parents paid around $100 for it. It was by far, the best Christmas present I ever got! :)

I have a TI99-4a from around '82 still in the box. I haven't turned it on in over 15 years, but the last time I did it worked fine. I quit using it when the cassette interface gave out, meaning I couldn't save/load programs anymore. If I recall correctly, my parents paid around $100 for it. I remember seeing one of those Ti99 in a Gibson store for $100 and wishing I could get one. Did finally get a C64 or three. All worked last time I used them, a long time ago.

I wish I still had mine. That said, I still see them for sale on the local auction sites, but can't bring myself to spend any money on one. I've tinkered with the emulators in the past, but based on the results, I can't picture myself doing more with a real one either.

I have two IMSAI 8080's in the basement, circa 1977, both in good condition. The last one was retired from embedded programming development (8048, 8051, Z80) in the early 90's. 500 watt linear (!) power supply with a transformer that weights 15 lbs. Does that qualify as "big iron"? They sit next to a real IBM AT. Jack Peacock (computer dinosaur, from the days when IBM and the Seven Sisters dominated MIS)

All of the above. My heart belongs to the Color Computer and TRS-80 lines but it warms up to the rest of the great 8 bit machines of the era. Still actively used in my humble abode: TRS-80 Model I and IV Tandy Color Computers 1, 2, 3 and MC-10 ZX-81 (just got an SDC reader for it) C= Plus/4, VIC-20, C64 and C128 TI 99/4A Atari 400, STe (ok, 16 bits) and 800XL Sinclair QL :cool:

Kudos! Excellent collection you have there. :thumbsup: I had an 800XL, but I was a fan of the CoCo by far. I had two of the 2's (one for hardware experiments/projects) and one of the 3's. Great little computers.
