What I meant was: - Pre-processing: Download all info needed, as PDFs, videos, etc. - Focus time: Disconnect, read and watch them, and solve your problem. - Then, back to network.

I was joking with you...and generally, it doesn't work like that, except for fairly trivial problems. You Google, you read, you google again, you read, you think you have a solution, you check, you start looking again, you... Disconnecting slows you down, rather than allowing you to focus better. The best aid to focus I have found is to take a break and do something completely different!

Read that line again! It means - lie to yourself as what you are doing just now was fun and inspiring!

Let's go point by point - **1. Always find what you do inspiring and fun** I am inspired by gin and its consumption leads to fun. **2. Choose a great chair-and-table combo** Sat at the bar; sorted. **3. Get your work station organized** Phone, FT and a G&T. **4. Make your computer distraction-free** Switch it off. **5. Have enough water nearby** There's *loads* of water in a G&T! **6. Bring in the snacks** I think you'll find a good bar will stock plenty of sensible snacks such as peanuts, crisps and pork-like products. **7. Make a daily “to-do” list and keep it nearby** Get up, get dressed. What more is there? **8. Prioritize the tasks** Gin, ice, tonic. **9. Let others know of your strict personal policies** I never undertake any work on a day ending in 'Y'. **10. Put on the headphones** Does a hearing aid count for this one? **11. Be unreachable, busy, away…or “invisible”** Well, it appears to be that way as far as the recruiters are concerned. **12. Stay away from social networking sites** I think you'll find very little social networking at sites like the Dog & Lettuce. **13. Organize your emails** CTRL+A DEL **14. Redesign your phone use** Suduko and no e-mail or SMS. **15. Choose suitable music** Sound of Silence.

I am sure he meant they weren't having an internet connection for the machine you were given for giving the test. And at least you were given a machine and an IDE with Intellisense, and not asked to write code on paper.

I used to work for a company that (among other things) made a Tempest Approved VDT - a "dumb" terminal (although it had a processor, ROM, and RAM and was quite bright foe its time) that is in a big radiation shielded box to prevent evildooers from the KGB spying on what the UK army was doing with email. When it broke down, the service engineer we sent was deprived of all reading and writing materials, pens, watch, phone, pager, calculator, cash, and all tools. He was then locked into a Tempest Room (Radiation proof cage, basically) with no electricity or tools of his own with a VDT disassembled by the military, and all ROMS removed... Fix that, sunbeam!

I am sure he meant they weren't having an internet connection for the machine you were given for giving the test. And at least you were given a machine and an IDE with Intellisense, and not asked to write code on paper.

I was asked one of the employee in that company , she said that "if you can use it, the internet connection blocked in all machines, we have only client's site to access, cant surf anything ".
