It started out as some weird misdirected anger - that flag was never the cause of anything, it's just some particular configuration of colours on a rectangle. But sure, it may be an odd message to fly it from a government building.. for reasons completely unrelated to recent incidents. But then the weird shit started. Several companies stopped selling the physical flag, well, ok, I guess they can do that, but it's a completely empty gesture made only because of current climate of Rampant Stupidity. What's even worse is Apple banning any occurrence of the flag from the App Store - that includes games set in the American Civil War, which of course include that flag because, you know, history. What the fuck? How about you piss off, Apple. America, you've gone crazy. Well, crazier than usual at least. Go fix a real problem, you have plenty of them.

Very true. However, we certainly don't have a monopoloy on crazy just yet, http://www.codeproject.com/Lounge.aspx?msg=5080948#xx5080948xx[^]. We are our own worst enemy. We have the left trying to destroy what has made America great. The left is trying to neutralize everything, get rid of anything that can be considered offensive or anything that makes us different. They don't want any more gender, or race, or religion, or any personal thought. They want the government doing everything for us.

There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

I can imagine how big companies get nervous over anything that might foster the idea of a not-so-united states. ..with the idiot excuse that 'someone' might be offended over the flag. Yes, good excuse, I can see how they get their money's worth :-\

The country has certainly gone into "full retard" mode. Google "confederate flag", and then click the "shopping" link. No results found. I think you can still get a confederate flag by ordering a "custom flag", but I haven't tried it yet.

I think I should start selling Confederate flags. Except for the death threats*, it might be profitable. *Gee it is said the flag inspires hate, it must be true.

It's not like this is new people trying to remove the flag, it's the same folks who have been trying and they got a lever. Then every gutless company in the country decided to get in on the action. But let's be very honest, when you lose the war the battle flag comes down. When you hoist the thing back up as a result of the civil rights campaigns you're sending a very clear message. One that has not one damn thing to do with heritage.
