Atari: Game Over -- why developers quit
-
EDIT: fixed link to Howard Scott Warshaw wikipedia entry Have you ever watched the movie / documentary, Atari: Game Over (amazon link to trailer)[^]? It's extremely interesting, because as you watch you'll hear about Howard Scott Warshaw[^] creator of Yar's Revenge and numerous other Atari titles which moved him to the top of the game system heap. However, as you watch, you'll see learn that he no longer does game development. It's very interesting story about why. Very interesting about how beliefs come into the people's imagination and are furthered by journalists who tell only one angle of the story which is often incorrect or (as in this case) and straight up falsehood. Check it out, as a developer you'll probably really like it. Very interesting history of Atari too.

Correct link Howard Scott Warshaw[^] "the debugger doesn't tell me anything because this code compiles just fine" - random QA comment "Facebook is where you tell lies to your friends. Twitter is where you tell the truth to strangers." - chriselst "I don't drink any more... then again, I don't drink any less." - Mike Mullikins uncle

$5 to rent, no thank you. Not for something like this. I am interested to watch the story sometime.

You are totally right. I watched it because I'm an Amazon Prime member and watched for free.
