Neither was the horse... I currently run 7 (because 8 is Fisher Price Windows) - but I'll upgrade to 10 probably next week. Unless the internet starts screaming "it made my computer fall over!" and all I hear at the moment is a deafening silence (because it disabled people's network connection, so they can't get online?)

Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

That's my point exactly... I cannot afford to be down, so I won't upgrade unless there's a really compelling reason to.. And that would take a lot of convincing.

Well, it's not going well over here. Tried to install it twice last night, the first time nothing happened (literally, the downloader which was supposed to create a bootable usb wotsit just disappeared), the second time I got the mysterious 'something happened' error message. It's enough to make me buy a Mac. Sorry, I went delirious for a moment. I'm ok now. http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2015-07/30/windows-10-something-happened-error[^]

Well, they did infect everyone's machine with a message telling them to 'reserve' their copy. Coupled with the facts it's free, it's not really that surprising is it? You usually have to pay for your new version of Windows, and I bet that in the past the average user wouldn't even know when a newer OS was available.

I hope you're using the word "upgrade" in the generic, and not in the specific. I will never upgrade (specific usage) to a major version of an OS. I always install to an empty HD.

That's what, at least 2 threads started on this topic in under 2 hours? I think it's safe to say we've found our resident Windows 10 hater.

I didn't rollback. The upgrade went as smoothly as it gets and I like the Windows 10 much better. No issues whatsoever and the drivers seems to be better. As a gamer I appreciate the better graphic performance.

A "success", no doubt. The new Microsoft will be soon hailing victory for the rollout, as soon as SP1 is delivered to all machines that lost all connectivity. Personally, I stopped at seven. Things have shifted from having a new hype each year to being boring and predictable.

Why would I want to take a perfectly working computer and have a good chance of messing it up completely with a new operating system - I wouldn't unless I was insane, which is what I think of most people who go out and install brand new operating systems(before SP1 is released) unless they are doing it because they need to support their insane clients.

I seem to recall someone on this website once referring to XP's Luna theme as "Fischer Price." That wouldn't have been you, would it? :-D

...and it bricked my computer, so I've spent my entire Friday night reinstalling Windows 8 instead of shooting zombies in the face. Does that count as a rollback? Or will I try it again tomorrow, like the whore that I am...? :~

A=s I recall, XP was the Fisher-Price release; this one looks more like something Barney would endorse.
