Is Windows 10 haunted?

I set up my monitors with two different pictures yesterday, and when I powered up today, there they were. (And it started faster than Win7 did as well...sort of. Some apps take an absolute AGE to load for the first time, but do shut down quicker) Then I viewed a JPG file. Once I had worked out what app to use, anyway. And it was on the wrong monitor, so I moved it to the correct one. But it went green... Eventually worked out that I could position the image so it was half on one and half on the other, and switch it between perfect on both, and green on both by moving it a single pixel left or right. :doh: Turns out it's because under Win7 I had calibrated one monitor to my printer, and not the other. Delete the calibration, and it's all fine. So now, I'll have to redo the calibration (which takes all morning, so I'll leave that for now. Then I noticed I had apparently acquired a US keyboard...install the UK pack: download 25Mb, couple of seconds. Install? 40 minutes...and needs a restart. Close all apps first, and notice that both monitors now have the same image. :sigh: Reboot. Two images are back! Yay! They have swapped monitors, but I can live with that... And while I'm moaning, why the heck have they separated the Start menu and the Search to two buttons? It worked beautifully in Win7 on the same button...

I've just hit my first stumbling block on Windows 10. I wanted Remote Connection (to access a Raspberry Pi). So to download the free app, I have to create a Microsoft Account. But when I next reboot the PC I get a strange screen - it turns out, I now have to log on to start my own PC; I've never logged on before. My boot up process was 1) Switch on; now it is 1) Switch on, 2) Wait for logon page, 3) Enter password. And the really bad thing is that the password turned out to be the one that I had set for the Microsoft Account. So, MS knows the password to start my PC. How insecure is that?

Because they want you to use Cortana which requires no buttons, obviously!
I'm still waiting for the Halo version of Cortana to appear on my desktop and start ordering me around.

Most of your issues seem related to having two monitors, send me a second monitor and I will test it for you.
You don't even have two? I have three. I can't imagine getting any work done without at least two.

I just switched to a single 3440x1440 at work and it is working pretty well, though at home I have 4 2560x1440 and a 3440x1440, so I get your meaning. :)
