How is a person that is known for his own stupidity a great candidate, just because he is a celebrity? Research the other candidates if you want to know some things about them. Just because someone gets a lot of media attention, doesn't mean that they are a good presidential candidate.
Donald Trump is actually an intelligent person. He just knows nothing about world politics, only world finance and the politics that govern that. That is why the POTUS has advisers. Just because he is an asshole, doesn't make him stupid. Most of the other candidates are Bible thumpers, and that does not interest me. I am a Republican, but not based on Religion (which most are).

:thumbsup::thumbsup: That's why I always find it weird that people judge solely on what the candidate knows. Most good business leaders say the key to success is to hire smarter people than them. It should be the same in the White House. No one can know everything about every country and what is going on. When I interviewed for my current position the VP asked if I knew everything I needed to know. I told her no way. But I know how to find the answers. It's OK to not know everything. Our government should be much more than just the President.

Same with this piece in the OP. The piece says that Trump was "boasting" about military etc. I read it and didn't see boasting. So far, I think the media's plan is backfiring. Don't fall for what the media wants you to think. Inform yourself and then think for yourself.

Yes, I agree that he isn't stupid(I should have written an asshole, but stupid just came to mind). Of course he can't know everything, I never said one has to or even can know everything. Well your previous post was written in a way that I got a feeling that you only saw the one that is mostly exposed, I misinterpreted it. Thanks for explaining your point of view.

Disclosure: I'm a socially liberal fiscally conservative independent and I wish more people didn't identify as one side or the other. We are all American and we are all in this together, part of the same team. If either side "loses" we all lose. I might not be a huge fan of Trump but the man does an amazing job at self promotion. If anyone has any question about why he is doing so well, I urge them to read Scott Adams's blog entry 'Clown Genius'[^]. I've mentioned it a few times before as have a few others I'm sure. The man is an expert at selling himself. He is also an expert at being the anti-candidate. Both sides, right and left have pissed off their base. So he is presenting a third way and it resonates with everyone who isn't happy. Politics as usual isn't working so let's try something new. That said he is also used to getting his own way. If people think Bush and Obama wrote a lot of exec orders, I think Trump would... well trump them both. Bernie Sanders has some interesting ideas but I don't think he would be able to do even a fraction of what he wants. And perhaps that is the best idea, after all the wheels of government were meant to turn slowly. Change things to fast and you get unintended consequences. I will never forget what one of my poli-sci professors said:
As soon as you elect someone, you should do every thing you can to get them back out of office.
The man was a career marine, started as a front line rifleman and retired as a colonel. He decided that he wanted to teach and help the next generation. He didn't even draw a salary. Always encouraged us to look at both sides even if you didn't like what they were saying and at least think, consider, and ask yourself if it sounded reasonable.

Donald Trump's prep school experience is no where even close to any form of military training. And being a former Marine, I'm insulted that he's trying to make himself off as someone with military experience. His comments calling women fat pigs are insulting and degrading. His comments calling Latinos murderers and rapists are realllly stupid. His foreign policy comments make him look like a total fool. His comments on John McCain are very insulting to a national hero. But don't take my word for it[^] And you call him "intelligent" and support him??? He's a side show who has zero chance of being president.

Donald Trump's prep school experience is no where even close to any form of military training. And being a former Marine, I'm insulted that he's trying to make himself off as someone with military experience. His comments calling women fat pigs are insulting and degrading. His comments calling Latinos murderers and rapists are realllly stupid. His foreign policy comments make him look like a total fool. His comments on John McCain are very insulting to a national hero. Sure. He said what you quoted he said. But intent, meaning, is your opinion and can only be verified by Trump himself. You can't claim to know what Trump's intent and meaning were. Even the link you posted that had his quotes had him saying that some of the latinos are good people yet you ignored it. It appears you are not actually paying attention to what he says. If he says he likes the color white then you are assuming that he hates the color black.
