Agreed: I know that area well and lived in Marin for some years. It is wet and cold in the winter and you get the marine layer at the coast which can last all day up there. Still, other than that, it is a beautiful part of the world, particularly Marin. Forget Sausalito, Tiburon is the almost the same without the tourists.

Its a quaint looking place, reminded me of Devon even more, since it was an exact copy of a Devon pub.

Like the whole of that Gulf Coast.From the UK, it's better to fly into Tampa than Miami. Much quieter and the drive down that coast to Naples is quite pleasant. Best Muffin's at Tony's off Third :-)

Looked a bit shabby to me.

I didn't like Carmel at all, just chintzy shops laid out in a grid pattern in a forest. No charm at all. Ever seen Honfleur, Dartmouth? Oddly I think the best of it is where I was working, Sacramento and its surroundings, very bourgeois, not built up, but I would still get bored after a year there, that's why we didn't move out, despite the firm almost begging me too. If I am in LA I will look you up, I'll have to practice some anti semitic jokes though!
