    Movie Quote Of The Day

If all the animals along the equator were capable of flattery, then Thanksgiving and Halloween... would fall... on the same day.

    Which movie?

Hmmm...does any country on the Equator celebrate "Thanksgiving"? Halloween is a bit more general, but even then...oceans away...dozens of 'em...

Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Neither Thanksgiving nor Halloween are Swedish holidays. Nevertheless, for some years now, people have celebrated Halloween here in Sweden. There has been talk about Thanksgiving as well (probably mostly because the shops want to up their income). It hasn't struck yet, but I'm sure it will. People here will take ANY opportunity to get pissed out of their minds (That is not what thanksgiving is about of course, but that's they way it would be celebrated here). We don't eat a lot of turkey either, so God only knows what the trade wants to substitute that with?!?!? Personally, I don't care about either holiday. I'll get drunk any day I choose, without a reason... I'm Danish, I can do that! So they COULD (theoretically) celebrate Thanksgiving on the Equator... ;)

I'm not sure your argument fully holds water: yes, Sweden could begin celebrating Thanksgiving (but "thanks for what?" I have to wonder) but... it's not exactly on the Equator, is it? IIRC from my one and only trip nearby (Oslo - lovely city, but not-quite-in-Sweden I know) proximity to Equatorial climes was not high on its many sterling qualities. Oh, hang on, I forgot a trip to Finland (also not-quite-in-Sweden but very full of non-tropical trees and some very nice people).

No, my argument was: If it can happen in Sweden. surely it can happen on the Equator as well...?!?! Surely it has nothing to do with climate???

Well season 8 was not all that good to me script-wise. The acting was great and I really like Capaldi as the doctor. Hopefully season 9 improves on that. I'll have to watch it soon. :-D

                                  Movie Quote Of The Day

If all the animals along the equator were capable of flattery, then Thanksgiving and Halloween... would fall... on the same day.

                                  Which movie?

In Word you can only store 2 bytes. That is why I use Writer.

Everyday will be celebrated as "Lets pat on everyone's back day" or "Butter up" day

So they COULD (theoretically) celebrate Thanksgiving on the Equator... ;)

Good heavens, I hope not. That's another Swedish tradition I can't stand. But it would actually make sense in some twisted way: "Smörgås", which means sandwich literally (and strangely) translates to "goose with butter" - and a goose is as fowl as any turkey, I guess...
