I have a crappy screen at home. It's washed out, has a terrible viewing angle, and the colours drastically change as you change the angle at which you are viewing. It's a Samsung and I had assumed it would be pretty good but caveat emptor. I was in the Display Properties dialog in Windows 10 - again - and decided to give the display tuning wizard a go. I've used this in Win7 but completely forgot about it. 2 mins later and my screen is now actually usable. I'm impressed that seemingly small tweaks, guided by that wizard in such a sensible, intuitive way, have made such a huge difference. Nice one.

Always done that with the buttons on the front-bottom of the monitor... (I too have Samsung and more than happy with)

Let me guess... The wizard sugested to use the good old CGA color scheme. Nothing beats cyan text on a magenta background. :-)

You assumed, ah yes. I'd have thought you'd have investigated it's capablilities before the buy, but just because that is the sensible thing to do musn't let me assume everybody would do that.

You assumed, ah yes. I'd have thought you'd have investigated it's capablilities before the buy, but just because that is the sensible thing to do musn't let me assume everybody would do that.

There are places (like banks) where they put hardware filters over the screens to deliberately narrow the viewing angle. Obviously they don't want to deal with snoopers.

You made a comment indicating that a narrow viewing angle may be a "bad thing"tm. I was commenting that sometimes a narrow viewing angle is a desired characteristic.
