How big and heavy is it? Luggage should by definition require lugging!

If it is about my suitcase on the airport...which is better? There is any difference at all?

Skipper: We'll fix it. Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this? Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Aircraft: Baggage - as it has to carry bags versus Railroad: Luggage - where it has to lug along :-)

Luggage would refer to the actual suitcases, clickety[^]. You can buy luggage since it's the actual items. Luggage becomes baggage when you put stuff in it and use it to travel, clickety[^].

Yes, there is a subtle difference, but it's mainly one of usage. At the airport you have:

            • a baggage allowance (maximum number of bags you can carry for free)
            • a baggage claim (where you pick up your baggage after landing)
            • a lost luggage office (where you complain when you can't find your bags)
            • a left luggage area (where you can keep your bags instead of lugging them around before you check in)

When you go to a store to buy a suitcase, you go to the luggage department. /ravi

Depends on whether you prefer Barium or Lutetium.

Proud to have finally moved to the A-Ark. Which one are you in?

Barium is tastier, ...if you use enough ketchup!

Technically all baggage is luggage, but not all luggage is baggage. Stuff you take with you that is not in a bag is luggage not baggage. Stuff in a suitcase is counted as baggage. Even if it is not a bag with a (one) suit in it. Though OTOH I wonder if it should be called suittage...
