    Project manager: This UAT data will all go in by the end of the day. Me: I think we need to be cautious with our expectations as we have hit a lot of errors so far when importing data. Project manager: You are such a pessimist. Reality: The environment was completely screwed up by the someone's last minute changes to the configuration files - which they had not factored into the data files. The import was even more of a screw up than I had hinted at. End of first day and 1/20th of the data is in the system. After witnessing all of this the IT director told me that I am a pessimist.

                      I have worked with some really good project managers. The best project manager I worked with would multiply my time estimate by three and she was generally correct in her time estimation. Currently I work with project managers who divide my time estimate by three...
