since the last update installation it doesnt boot smooth anymore, but nerving with it shiny new blue screen with the known errors as IRQ_LESS_OR_EQUAL, some ARC_SYSTEM ??? and other stuff. I got to reset the BIOS and boot 3 times and the PC freezes. Such shit I havent experienced since Vista Previews.:mad::mad: Addition: I got the next BSOD with fvevol.sys PS: I run the PC three month with Windows 8 error free, and two month with Windows 10 (no new hardware)

Press F1 for help or google it. Greetings from Germany

What are you guys installing/running that makes Windows 10 unusable? I don't really have many problems with it.

When you switched to Win 10: Did you just do the upgrade or did you follow it up with a clean install? I saw this on my grandson's laptop after the upgrade, but after a clean install it was good.

If I compare this to my experience with my own apps, an upgrade is not always that easy... and with my apps it is only an app. Upgrading an OS: I do not have an idea, why people expect this should work smooth ;)

Make sure that the computer is not defective... What is ARC_SYSTEM? In my opinion most crash are either due to malfunctionning hardware or poorly written drivers.

Because Microsoft offering it not only as an option but as the default procedure should imply that it works, right? Of course we know better, but that's why people expect it, rightfully.

It is important to do the upgrade first, then follow up with a clean install. When you upgrade your machine is registered with Microsoft as eligible for Win 10, and you won't need an expensive activation code later - during the clean install. Just skip the parts where a clean install asks for the activation code.

Because Microsoft offering it not only as an option but as the default procedure should imply that it works, right? Of course we know better, but that's why people expect it, rightfully.

I agree with your arguments. But in this case I think it is an experienced user. I will also do this (need to do it because of company guidlines) upgrade to W10 in near future, one from W7 and one from W8.1, but I do not expect it goes smooth. More I expect that I need to go from scratch :(

I'm assuming that if I don't have to upgrade now I certainly won't have to once they start charging. Perhaps they'll even remove the optional update :D
