Huh? I have often seen installers with "English (British)" or "English (United Kingdom)" or some such variant. Most even have "English (South Africa)", "English (Australia)" etc. etc. They often even auto-detect based on your Windows settings.

They do if they have dictionaries. But how about other things. For example, I installed the new RayMan 3 for my son. It had English (Usited States) but not English(anything else). In fact I cant think of a single game I have installed that had any English other than English (United States). Surly It should just be "English" in this case. Hence, my original statement about the yanks not kinowing the language thay speak :-)

Wouldn't it be a shock to us "yanks" to make the only choice of "English" and be unexpectedly forced to ready horrible spellings like "colour"!:-D "Yeah, and I invented the spellchecker" - fellow inventor Dan Quayle on hearing that Al Gore invented the Internet.

I have often wondered why installers have amongst their set of install languages "English (United States)" but no "English (British)". I think I finally figured it out. The yanks arent smart enough to know the language they speak, so they put the "United States" on there to help the poor fellows out. ;P Now I'[ll stand well back and wait for the flames :suss:

We do that with our product. We generate reports in 19 different languages or language variants (including French/French (Canadian) and a few others), but the only version of English we have is UK. The topic of a US English variant has come up a few times (and we'd be quite happy to do it) but the feedback we get from the States is that the use of UK English gives our reports a certain je ne sais quoi which sells well across the big pond. Would you be referring to those things some people might call "Freedom Chips"? ;P Don't you just dunk them in the ketchup and shove them in your mouth? :~ "Yeah, and I invented the spellchecker" - fellow inventor Dan Quayle on hearing that Al Gore invented the Internet.
