I obtained the pirated CD of Windows XP Profesional in which all registration steps were missing from setup program :eek: and OS is running normally ;) I've no idea how they did it, (i think playing with hex editors).

Codes bought with a group license don't need activating. At least, the code that we've got here doesn't need activating. It must be something in the code that tells Windows it doesn't need activating. The copy of XP that you brought was corporate version of XP. The corporate version does not require activation. It is usually sold to the corporates with 100+ licenses. Microsoft added product activation to XP, but they left a back door open "The corporate version of XP". Nobody will play with hex editor, if there is a simple way to get around the protection. If you use Kazaa, you'll find XP Corp version freely available for download by the dozens. You'll even find a patch that'll allow you to apply SP1 to your corp version of XP. No matter what MS does, ppl will find a way to get around it ;P - Snakebyte I'm too geeky for this shirt, too geeky for this shirt, so geeky it Hertz !
