... Oh! Hi there! Uhm... so you're the Vista-user?

Upon every new paradigm, BAD Windows preceeds GOOD windows versions: Windows ME (really bad)-> Windows 2000 then XP (really good) Windows Vista(bad) -> Windows 7 (good) Windows 8 (somewhat bad)-> Windows 10 (somewhat good)

Yep I'm the one and only Vista user, holding a personal record of "InstallDate: 11/17/2009 10:10:54 PM" , without having to do a reinstall. Wow it's been that long. I actually prefer it over Windows 7 and can't stand windows 8 or 10 so won't use those at all.

I'm one of the VERY few who found Windows ME great... I did the worst things to that poor system and it never ever crashed or gave BSOD, while with Win98 it was hell - and Win2k did not support half of the hardware, plus being the slowest S.O I put on that machine.

I've still got one decade old laptop running it. Mostly because I can't be elephanted to upgrade it yet. Currently it's an emergency loaner for the extended family; if it's still working in 8 months I'll probably try sevening it. (My brother tried when he had it and screwed the vista install up; but only got an equally fubar 7 install. I just reloaded from my backup when I got it back.)

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason? Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? --Zachris Topelius Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies. -- Sarah Hoyt

I,ve still got a box running Vista, and it's still working just fine (with all the "WOW!" cr@p switched off, Vista really was an improvement over XP).
