I've noticed that when I minimize all the windows the screen brightness is progressively getting lower, and when I open any window the screen brightness gets brighter... Is this normal? Should I exorcise the computer? :~

Yes. The exact rite depends on the religion your computer professes... :)

If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack. --Winston Churchill

No need to go through all of that trouble and expense. Just use a ducking stool - will fix problem PC's (especially iProduct) every time.

Nice to know there is something that works for those eyeProducts. Been having a bit of an infestation myself and you got to get to work quickly before they spread. So far our computers has been clean but a tablet recently got hit by some severe eye problems.

Does your monitor have a small circular vaguely translucent white piece of plastic about 1/2 cm in diameter somewhere on the bezel?

Try taking it to confession first. :)
