Few questions. 1. How to burn the bootable ISO-Image when the image size is 715,744 KB. My external CD-RW complaints that it's more than CD capacity (700 MB) 2. Is there any way running the Knoppix on XP? CAUTION: writing to NTFS partitions can lead to data loss, since Linux does not really support this file system! Don't  and drive.

what version are you trying? Knoppix v3.1 worked ok for me, although the mix of English and German menus, aren't my cup of tea.:-D Later,

1 - Overburn if your cd-rw supports it, most do. Usually just ignore the warning and the ISO will burn fine. 2 - Not sure, I've only tried Mandrake linux and that was either in VMWare or in a dual-boot. FAT filesystems are no problem for linux, but NTFS is read-only if the kernel has NTFS support compiled in. Doubt thats any help but I'm drunk, so blehrlhkerlje ;P

Yeah, it works. Booted up with it on my XP laptop. The only problem was I recieved a memory setting error but I think I recieved that error on the VMware boot-up too. Later,

I think the real problem is that there are so many variations of hardware out there that they can't cover everything. When my Athalon boots Knoppix it tells me that it can't find the dual processor :confused: So far every Knoppix hassle of my own I've been able to handle through googling. :-) Regardz Colin J Davies

Hi, Take care with NTFS !! I read in a news recently that you can loos all your datas on your NTFS partition if you try to write. You can Read, but Writing is still experimental.
