Police takes newborn kittens into custody. [^] "Police officers of the Joto Police Station took turns watching over the kittens in shifts." It gets better. "A junior high school student heard their cries, and her school contacted police." Imagine the reaction if this happened in most other countries :D

Years ago (like 30) I walked out of my apartment to my car, which meant having to walk by the dumpster in the parking lot. I heard these tiny "mews" coming from the dumpster and discovered someone had put 4 kittens, probably no more than 3 weeks old, in a cardboard box in the dumpster. :( I took them in, there was more flea than kitten to them, gave them all baths in de-flea-ing stuff (box said not to use on less than 6 week old kittens, but there really wasn't much choice.) The water turned pink from all the flea poo. Kept them for a few weeks, it was the cutest thing to see them playing in the book cases and my other two cats took to them right away, which was amazing. They all survived and I found good homes for them. Marc

You should have just left it at "years ago" because now, for some reason, I have this mental image of you being like, 75 years old. Good story, though.

Who knows, he might be flattered by that. :-\

In some Italian regions they would have ended up in a frying pan.

In some other regions it wouldn't be surprising.

Well, it's red because it's from the blood of what they feed on, it just turns pink in the de-flea-ing stuff because that's milky white. X| Marc

Sounds perfectly normal for the UK.
