Smartphone headset for high noise enviroment

Anyone got any experiences to share when it comes to bluetooth headsets or similar for high noise environments? Will a normal bluetooth headset provide a better experience? Or should you go straight for a noise cancelling headset that also provides hearing protection?

Negative only - never buy Kliptsch, really expensive and mine failed after about a year of regular use. Also make sure they are light weight.

I can only second RossMW : ear plugs. Trying to cover noise with other noise is not good in the long run. Noise cancelling is the way to go if you still are wanting to do so, but then be ready to give out some cash : the only working system are the expensive ones.

I use the Jabra Steel BT headset - not because I really need it, but it works great. I have bounced around Jabra, Plantronics, etc. and have just about settled on Jabra as my go to BT product.

Not sure if its the same model but got the recommendation from a coworker to use Peltor so it's leaning towards those. I'm not the end user, just the middle man tasked to find them. :)

It's not about removing the noise or hearing protection in this case, just a user who needs to be able to carry on phone conversations in that environment but it seems like noise cancelling headset is a must to be able to achieve that. I'm not fotting the bill at least. :-\

They have many models, go to their homepage and find the ones having the functionality you want.

I plan to do it the other way around. I started with simulators and model helicopters and plan to get into a real one at least once. Going all the way and making the pilot license probably would not be very smart, but why not take a lesson or two?
