      They're obviously not familiar with naval ordinance ("5-inch" refers to the size of the projectile, NOT the length of the barrel).

          ...and to be more precise, the 5-inch refers to the diameter of the shell not the length.

            Journalism at it's finest. I can live, just, with the typo's and grammar errors we see in today's output but blatant idiocy should be punishable.

              Isn't it same for all guns even civilian use, usually say the width of bore like 9mm pistol is not 9mm long? Reporter even less intelligent then.
