Absolutely love it. :) The US should simply tell the bank to pay the fine to EU and that they'll collect DB's fine instead from Apple. :laugh:

Definitely. The net result would be DB paying tax in EU, and Apple paying tax in the US. Would this be a ploy to make these evil corps pay more taxes in a roundabout sneaky way?

One big difference in the fines . . . "$14 billion fine of their own to Deutsche Bank to settle an outstanding probe into the company's trading of mortgage-backed securities during the financial crisis." DB took part in a morally criminal enterprise from the world is still recovering. Really, if the EU thinks Apples deserving of a $14B fine for entering into an agreement with a sovereign government than Deutsche Bank should pay many times that amount.

You're still angry! (I knew it) I'll give you this, going back on the Ireland/Apple deal is sub optimal. But from the EU point of view having had to bailout Ireland in 2010 worth of 85B, the EU figured it had to have a closer look at where all this money was going. So Ireland was kinda sovereign, but not so sovereign when it needed 85B.

Definitely seems they're trading blows at the moment. Not as much a trade war, but a war of governments trying to recuperate some of the tax payer money from big corps and banks that went into bailouts.
