You took my line-ish. I was gonna say "that's what it's like living on the edge". But no, I can't say that now. :sigh:

Every update it seems that my preferences for whether I want Edge in the quick launch (no), Edge pinned to the taskbar (No thanks) and my default browser (Chrome) get reset to "YES! I love Edge and want it everywhere!". Constantly. Didn't Microsoft get shamrocked a few years ago for something to do with ramming a certain browser down people's throats? At least it's good to see Microsoft have recovered, dusted themselves off, and are back in the game.

Yeah, I still prefer IE and occasionally on startup get directed to a page telling me that 'you really should be using Edge'. My three main reasons for not using it: 0: I can't control file extensions when downloading using Edge. (.bacpac files automatically get saved as .zip and changing them back manually just corrupts the file. :wtf: ) 1: SSRS Report Manager flat out refuses to connect using Edge. 2: I don't like being told I should do something to improve the stats, especially when the new version offers no real benefit to me...kind of like the new Azure portal...I rather like the old one just fine even if you force me to go through an extra step to get there! Sorry, a little off-topic!

Every now and again I wind up Edge and that reminds why I dislike it so much compared to IE or Chrome.

I developed a bespoke HTML editor for use in our intranet as the editor for articles, etc. it works completely with IE9+, Chrome, Opera, Safari, Vivaldi and even Firefox. I have just been told that I might now have to make it work with Edge as we are having to now support Windows 10 as we get new PCs in. My solution is to make sure Chrome is installed as standard and default on our new PC images! :-D

                  - I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

I quite like Edge as an alternative when Chrome goes belly-up on me while debugging, or something like that. I have no complaints with it as a browser.

I like Windows 10 and I like Edge. It is not a mature browser, but I really like Edge style and I use it by default. But I have to install other browsers for testing purposes and what bothers me is that they all want to be the favorite, the default. Browsers not only request to be the favorites in the installation, they repeat their demand even if you tell them to not repeat it. And not only the browsers request to be themselves the favorites: many associated products try to set them as default, pin them, etc. For me is the opossite: I like the convenience of not having to pin and select as default Edge. And if a windows update ensures that Edge is the favorite, that's make me happy :) In Spain we say that "it never rains to everyones's taste": you can't please all of the peope all of the time. Anyway, in the software by default war everybody should down the weapons to reach peace.

                            Sorry for my bad English

It's sad when I have to use the open with internet explorer option to get my website to display correctly. However, edge is improving especially after the last two feature updates I have noticed improvements. I still slap Microsoft by using edge for Bing points and then an hour later switch to IE mode for a website that refuses to load. Microsoft's probably like: "freeloader!" By now.

I use both, Chrome and FireFox for development and testing. I do need at least one browser where no development is going on and which is why I use Edge. I know, that I can always find my emails, drives, and other company related stuffs over there while chrome and firefox usually remain over-tabified! :-D Definitely, I am not gonna use it for development, but as a user, I have not found any such issues with it.

It lost me at the start when it didn't have an ad-blocker. I'll unblock for sites that I reasonably trust not to serve me up malware or overly intrusive ads. Browsing without one on by default feels like sex without a condom - only with those I trust and have a long relationship with and will risk a pregnancy with. (Cue list of similarities between *ware and pregnancy.)

Every now and again I wind up Edge and that reminds why I dislike it so much compared to IE or Chrome.

Edge is still missing one essential option (Chrome is also missing it by the way!): Option to automatically switch to a new tab when I right-click --> Open in new tab. Both IE and Firefox have that option, not Edge, not Chrome. I hate it when I see a new tab open and not being brought to it automatically... why the hell did I open it if I didn't want to go there?

I quite like Edge as an alternative when Chrome goes belly-up on me while debugging, or something like that. I have no complaints with it as a browser.

It's not the browser that bugs me. It's the lack of respect for my settings. Deliberately resetting only settings that relate to your choice of browser is lame.
