Microsoft: I don't want Edge. Really.

Every update it seems that my preferences for whether I want Edge in the quick launch (no), Edge pinned to the taskbar (No thanks) and my default browser (Chrome) get reset to "YES! I love Edge and want it everywhere!". Constantly. Didn't Microsoft get shamrocked a few years ago for something to do with ramming a certain browser down people's throats? At least it's good to see Microsoft have recovered, dusted themselves off, and are back in the game.

I thought being Microsofts b**** was part of the EULA for Windows 10? Not that that excuses this sort of behavior on their part, but it's forced updates, dodgy practices, and 's*** like this' that are (still) the #1, #2, and #3 reasons that 'no, I really, really do NOT want Windows 10'.

I use Edge all the time. My only grump with it is that it doesn't allow me to choose where downloads are saved. It's a nuisance having to move files from the Downloads folder to where I really wanted them to go.

Well foreign depends upon where you live, no? So - taking the context from your post (q.v.)[^] And money grubbing horrendous practices are basically a defect in capitalism (in its search for profits) and socialism (in it's take-it-or-leave-it quality model). Not that either has to behave that way - they just always do. The us-and-them reminds of a currently active political candidate's strategy - but rallying Europe against the US is always popular for European politicians. Works here, too. Consider Takata airbags[^]. A model for which all industry can strive!

Money grubbing is business and economics at its finest. Given a small supply or high demand, the company can up its price to make more money. The main focus of business is to increase the stockholder's capital in the company. Look at the drug company selling Epipens. It is ugly, the company is making huge profits, but the customers need the medication. And, the company's product is protected by patents. Yes it does make me sick to see such blatant greed and disregard for your fellow human being. Capitalism does work best in a mutually cooperative environment rather than a spy-vs-spy world. Maybe we can add restrictions to patents to where the holder cannot sell for more than 5% of some set value.

I'm enjoying my $5 Amazon gift cards every month. I spend about 5 minutes of each day using Edge; click.click.click....click, get my points and then close the browser, open up Chrome for the rest of the day.
