Apparently it's a hugely successful business LingsCars[^] and maybe the website is deliberately awful to stand out. I think I've been doing it wrong all these years. Time to throw out all the books on UI / UX and just throw the kitchen sink at my next project :-D

It made me a little sick of my stomach, but in general I found it very amusing, specially the source code. Spent some time trying to determine if the website was legit. There is also an interesting newspaper article clip: "Eccentric Entrepreneur scoops business accolade and industry praise for supposed 'worst website'"

Actually, it reminds me a lot of Japanese websites even from just a few years ago.

          Does mean it's successful, though.

I remember this place when it first opened. It's located in the North East of England, and its site attracted a lot of hilarity here. I guess they have the last laugh.

Gah, I open this site in Firefox (on an old laptop running FreeBSD) and I couldn't close the page! Had to terminate the process to quit. Pretty funny/entertaining site though.

This shows up in the JS also:

"If you die, you don't get your seat ticket refunded, and in the same way you won't get your new car refunded.|;|But, dying can be great, because the car contract will stop immediately and your car will go back to the finance provider.|;|This means that your loved ones, if anyone loves you, won't be left to pick up the cost of the car."

I vote genius! It's an ad site, intended to get people's attention and stick out in their memory. Someone put a lot of work into the humor. This gem is in the JS code, too:

Ling aims to do everything right, first time. She punishes herself and staff for making mistakes, so they happen very rarely.|;|Ling always complies with the Human Rights Act (Chinese rules), but it's usually her staff who get shot, not her customers.
