He knew the rule -- don't kiss in school -- and now Donnie Wood is out for good. But his mother and a Winnipeg lawyer are asking the courts to change that, and send the 17-year-old back to the high school he was expelled from after kissing his girlfriend at a dance. "We've been trying for the past year and a half to get him back into school and they just won't let him," his mother, Lynne Wood, said Wednesday. So they've filed a lawsuit with Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench, claiming the Midland School Division's November 2001 decision should be quashed and Wood reinstated. Smoocher sues to return to school[^] Don't  and drive.

Organisations like that make me so mad. It's a shame this is the Lounge and not the Soapbox. This line got me: "You can't even give a person a hug in school . . . that's called inappropriate behaviour," she said. All I can say is that's damn good way to ensure they raise a generation of kids who act like my mother. Idiots. Anna :rose: Homepage | My life in tears "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up. He got expelled for kissing his girlfriend at a school dance? He is 17 for god's sake, 1 year away from being legally allowed to whoop it up. What a screwed up school system. Sure, get a warning because it is a school rule (at stupid one nonetheless) but not expelled. I am sure there must be more to this than him just pecking his girlfriend on the lips. Probably was the final straw in a long list of things he has done wrong. I will bet you don't get expelled for fighting from that school. But heaven forbid someone kiss someone else. Oh no, the moral fiber is destroyed!

:omg::wtf::omg: What the....!!?? Expelled from school for kissing!? I wouldn't even expect him to be expelled for screwing. I understand the rule during a normal school day to help keep kids minds on education, but at an after school function, so what!. Some rulemakers are certainly deprived folks living in a fantasy world where PC reigns supreme and rational human behaviour has no place. Um... How do you know that any so-called "Bible-thumpers" even had anything to do with this? "Yeah, and I invented the spellchecker" - fellow inventor Dan Quayle on hearing that Al Gore invented the Internet.

Don't mean to butt in, however: in territory sometimes referred to as Manitoba's Bible Belt. it's a easy to infer from that. Although, I think it could happen anywhere. BW "I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific." - Lily Tomlin

That just indicates the location of the school and possibly why the rule existed in the first place, which could have been quite a few years ago. "Yeah, and I invented the spellchecker" - fellow inventor Dan Quayle on hearing that Al Gore invented the Internet.
