Speed up port scan process...?

Hello, I've been working on a simple port scanner in ASP.Net (VB.Net Based), everything works pretty well... But the only thing that I'm not satisfied is the speed :-( When I scan a lot of ports, it'll slow down the process. So I wonder if there's a way I can speed it up? Thanks :-D

hmmm... I know VB can load a lot of winsock components in a loop (like, Load Winsock(I) in a loop), in order to speed up.... But in ASP.Net, it just doesn't work that way :-( .....
