I didn't support him; for reasons that are irrelevant to this post I considered Clinton the marginally better choice. However all this rioting and 'not my president' is a load of bullshit. He was elected - just get the f%ck over it and try to make the best of the situation. What a bunch of w#nkers.

In a harsher world claiming that "he's not my president" and burning things should lead to imprisonment for terrorism (insurretionalists).

Absolutely agree. Pointless. A protest, for like a day, to express discontent, fine, but rioting is basically reinforcing the partisan divide. I'm sure the inauguration will be stripped of dignity by a howling horde of malcontents. Trump nauseates me, but he's in, they should just sit tight, fight for the issues they are concerned about, see what happens and act with dignity. I don't agree with this "heal the divide" crap - the man ran a completely amoral campaign and brought American politics to a new low. For that alone he should be reviled. But ripping up the streets isn't going to achieve anything except strengthen his case. Mind you, it's part of democracy to allow demonstration when you disagree with the politicians. Even when what you're disagreeing with is part of democracy.... ugggh my head hurts.

Unfortunate, in Portland, there's a cadre of anarchist who frequent demonstrations and foment violence. Hopefully, one fine day, the demonstrators, themselves will turn on them for hijacking their demonstration . . . well let's just say 'adjust their attitude'.

Have demonstrations they should, by all means. Right now they're just being total a**holes, destroying property and probably doing f#$& all good to their cause, actually they're probably strengthening his side and hurting their own. I bet he's laughing his ass off right now at their moronic behavior.

I agree, including people that imply a president is not legitimate due to misinformation about birth location. And those that call for a revolution on Twitter when they falsely claim the popular vote was lost... Yep, they should be deported immediately or imprisoned immediately.

That's the OOPS! part - should have thought it through a little further. The damage to be done will follow them through their entire lives (supreme court) - and if they were looking for an outsider? Well, the outsider was always an insider (rubbing elbows with the power elite) and now he's picked their chairman has his gatekeeper. As I said in earlier posts, and with some of it already appearing to come into fruition: the only small hope left is that, with his constant lying he even lied about what he'll do in office.

As those who are entitled to State secrets and leave them in open servers, or those who want to simplify the life of criminals by disarming honest citizens. And you know what the irony is? We're both right. In a saner world none of those two entities (I refuse to further categorize them) would have been anywhere but NOT in politics. I hoped, from the EU, for Trump's victory only because if a president with stricter gun laws view was elected it could cause a domino effect on the already extremely strict EU govenrments. Then you still are not understanding what the Sanders movement was about. Yes justices are important, however getting back the democracy is more important. I have heard this argument over and over (from Hillbots), but NEVER from Sanders backers. Sanders backers want money out first. Then, you can start to address the courts. Both HRC and Trump would nominate corporate backed judges which gets us no where on those policies. Yes, yes yes.. I know you are talking other issues. Again, has nothing to do with the Sanders supporters. I am not seeing any "Oops" from them, only the DNC freaking out.

Yep, and again that was preached by the Sanders movement well over a year ago. The prediction was if HRC took the DNC it could fall to the GOP and the elite, so no difference. HOWEVER, the difference lies in who sits there. IF, HRC won then no TRUE progressive agenda could be brought up for another 8 years! In this case, there is likely to be a massive progressive surge in 2 years and then again in 2020. This has and always been what the Sanders crowd pushed. This is WHY, it was argued NO DIFFERENCE. Of course HRC and Trump are different. But not in the polices that are actually speaking to the masses. Here is a CRAZY example. I know a guy that seriously wished Trump and Sanders would have run together. Yeah, not kidding. Why? He didn't want Trump because of Xenophobia etc., but anti establishment that Trump successfully conned his way in. As you pointed out, Trump is an insider. This means over the next two years the surge he got he will lose. He is in all likelyhood going to be a 1 term president. This is not to say he will not accomplish some things, but you can already tell from the people he is pulling in that the "swamp" will not be drained.

That is also coming to light. He has already stepped back on numerous pledges and will likely end up a moderate president, with conservative and establishment advisers milking the system. This will create a progressive wind

Pretty much. Too much money in the system. Media, representatives, even the judges.

I wouldn't count your chickens just yet. Trumps policies are very fascist speaking causing a rise in the EU's fascism politician's favor-ability. Just because he is not anti-gun doesn't mean his comparing politicians in the EU aren't. He is VERY anti media, which I get. The media is corrupt, but his take on it won't work. If he had his way he would get to sue anyone that speaks ill of him from now on. Also, if you watched the market the private prison funds skyrocketed. Go figure.

Two points. The big money is in the campaign - and extreme private influence - because of a Supreme Court decision - that will now not be struck down for generations. Thanks a lot! ? ? ?

I wouldn't count your chickens just yet. Trumps policies are very fascist speaking causing a rise in the EU's fascism politician's favor-ability. Just because he is not anti-gun doesn't mean his comparing politicians in the EU aren't. He is VERY anti media, which I get. The media is corrupt, but his take on it won't work. If he had his way he would get to sue anyone that speaks ill of him from now on. Also, if you watched the market the private prison funds skyrocketed. Go figure.

I'll now say something harsh (what-a-new): I hope for some hardass fascism to return. The one which created prison camps, not the neo skinheads full of booze and sh*t that are now around. Why? Because antifascism is dead. The leftist majornace now is the epitome of butt-hurt culture, which resorts to gang violence and censorship - exactly like the fascist, but with a differently coloured shirt. I hope, in Italy at least, for a rapid and huge downfall which wuold set priorities straight - now it's all about changing the grammar (in Italian names have genders, even objects, and the neutral form is 99% male gendered. Radical chics want to radically change a grammar that evolved for millennia and censor those who use the proper one for... nothing) and going vegan / antivax. I hope for the end in order to restart anew. At least here in Italy.

If there is anyone to thank it is the media for lieing to the public and jamming both Clinton and Trump down our throats for the last year. The problem is, it will not correct itself this time. Computers and weaponry are too powerful. Security and surveillance are too easy for a fascist state. If democracy collapses (as it has been to corporatism) it will be a domino effect and there will be no going back. The world will leave the democratic stage of nation states and begin a new corporate era where a few conglomerates use geography to enslave and carrot dangle the masses. There will be no escape from it, for it will be run by a handful of people with the absolute powers of automation and machinery to ensure it. We have about a decade to prevent such nastiness I figure. Either socialism begins a strong rise or we continue the fall into corporate fascism.

I do know what it means. I also know that HRC had no intentions of putting anyone up to overturn it. She began to claim she would towards the end of her campaigning. She likes to pander. Annnd I also know that the DNC had money out of their party, until 2012 when HRC began to take it over. :suss: You are pretty naive aren't you?

However all this rioting and 'not my president' is a load of bullshit. He was elected - just get the f%ck over it and try to make the best of the situation. What a bunch of w#nkers.

Nobody is telling them to stop using their flag or stop their way of life or beliefs. They have their right to think the the way they do, but denouncing and destruction of flag is not the way to go when your personal freedom isn't attacked, unless you're into treason. I realize they may think their personal freedom's are attacked, but that's because people are too busy listening to the media rather than actually educating themselves, and that goes for both sides. The fact is, it's not under attack and nobody is forcing them to stop being who they are. There's a difference. If you can't see that, then you're part of the problem and not the solution.
