Let me disagree my friend. I really hope that I'm wrong, because Canada is just the small hat on top of the USA and the time bomb ticking in the white house might take us down with you if the Donald will go ahead and implement his promises. Countries don't function like businesses and his "superior negotiation skills" might bring trade wars. We might consider ourselves lucky if it will remain only with the trade wars.

Haha! Wow! :omg: Are you tin-foil-hat crazy too? I can't even figure out how what you just said constitutes disagreeing with me. Well, I can't even figure out what you said to begin with, but I suppose that's beside the point!

Well, I disagree that this time nothing will change, things will definitely change, but we will have to wait to see the results.

Sorry mate, totally didn't get that from your previous comment. Things will change for sure. My comment was scoped entirely to the election process, i.e. Popular Vote vs. Electoral College. That won't change, because people don't really want it to.

Lol, if you want to change the US electoral system, you might have to start with the super packs. I don't think there is any other country in the world that allows unlimited financing of political parties by various lobbying groups.

The election of donald trump was predicted by Hurricane Matthew. The weather service had set dire warnings, but the storm was aimed straight through the gap between Cuba and Florida, and avoided causing the worst damage that had been predicted just hours before. The election of donald trump was the opposite, with news organizations overly confident of a Clinton victory until it was too late. Now the issue must be settled in the electoral college, symbolizing the cancelling of an original transgression with a new covenant. Donald Trump was born on the day of a lunar eclipse, and his election was the week before a rare super moon, corresponding to a curse for a short time being broken. The motion of hurricane Matthew corresponded to the breeding of horses and the four generation curse, or a time of hardship due to famine. Cuba is currently under a famine due to the leadership of russian socialists, the electoral college is under enormous pressure to go against the popular vote, similar to Pharoah under the four generation curse refusing to free the people, but after 10 plagues his will could not endure, the electoral delegates of 10 states have already pledged to support HRC in response to the petition, this she will be made president on January 20, 2017

The lamestream media was made to help make Trump the republican nominee to further ensure a Clinton victory. How's that workin' out for everybody? Wanna see a revolution? Go ahead. Have the electoral college artificially change the outcome of the election (aka "the will of the people"). Because THAT is how you start a revolution.

Well, business has to make revenues to share between the board of directros and the biggest stakeholders while Countries should provide a layer on which the citizens - and the rulers too, why not - may prosper. While businesses have to hoard and maximize profit a Country should continuously reinvest its revenues and maximize the quality of the "final product", alias the layer of services provided, and hoard only the amount necessary to face the unforeseen. That is my, for sure European biased, view of what a nations should do. We already had a businessman as president and nothing improved - only corruption. While I'm sure that corruption in Italy is a problem deep ingrained in the society itself in every level of it I'm no longer sure that running a nation like running a business provides any benefit to the citizens.

I'll agree that a business should not be in debt. But I also say that is true for a country.

I think many businesses do this, but more likely small businesses rather than major corporations.

I think you are only referring to large corporations that have shareholders. Small businesses do not need to hoard or maximize. They often start because someone enjoys doing something and it isn't about the money. And, in the US, small businesses are the power of our economy, not the large corporations.

What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question? The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism. Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

Businesses are not democratic. They don't elect their managers. At best businesses are a benevolent dictatorship, which actually Trump probably will try to do. in a way they are the definition of an oligarchy and that is ok because businesses operate to create profit for their shareholders or owners. The owners of politicians are not the people. Owners are the donors of the super packs. A business can negotiate deals and bully/compete their way through the markets and that is ok, because they are competing in a market. In a country there is no governmental market, no competing governments, except during the election times. In a way a government is the definition of a monopoly on power. BTW I cannot believe I have to explain all of this. :-D
