Damn! I've got some of those installed on machines, but I don't have a machine with more than one, let alone all of them. I guess it's time to put my feet up, whilst someone else sorts it out.

Dun worry, the vs installer will get whatever else it needs, ... plus as a bonus a whole bunch of [often useless] crap ms thinks you need. But seriously ms products are mostly quite good (with the exception of OS's after 7), installation is usually quite painless (given decent internet connection to download other req) but unlike other products it's the after-install removing crap and setting useful/normal/intelligent preferences that takes a lot of time and energy.

Adequate performance will always require more than you have now.

«There is a spectrum, from "clearly desirable behaviour," to "possibly dodgy behavior that still makes some sense," to "clearly undesirable behavior." We try to make the latter into warnings or, better, errors. But stuff that is in the middle category you don’t want to restrict unless there is a clear way to work around it.» Eric Lippert, May 14, 2008

A cluster of supercomputers is still waiting for the Android Studio's emulator to boot up.

If you have to uninstall something as invasive as VS and need to ensure all the leftovers are gone, you really need to use VMs instead and stop worrying about trying to keep your "good" machine(s) clean.

I got this. [Edit] Argh. If CP supported embedding images in messages, this is where I would've pasted a screenshot of my VM host, showing I have instances of each and every one of these OSes at the ready. (but yeah, I did get the joke you were making)

When you are dead, you won't even know that you are dead. It's a pain only felt by others. Same thing when you are stupid.

I remember a time, in the long ago and far away, when it was just barely possible. The hamsters were shocked, shocked I tell you, by the unbridled filth that was posted. Yes, cat pictures.

I agree. Plus you can backup/snapshot the VM before major updates / code changes.
