Maybe a good news?

After years and several surveys where to the question "what would you as Santa for next year?" the answer has been "WALLS dogdammit!", and only 3 years o requests to my boss maybe, MAYBE I will move my desk in a small office with only two other people (one of those is the other half of my team AND my most direct boss). Fingers crossed and hooray! The downside is a smaller desk, the bright side is I will no longer be surrounded on 7 sides by people who work mainly by phone. And dumb coworkers who flaunt the rule "meetings shall be conducted in the appropriate room" by having long managerial or technical discussions inside the open space.

I just have to wait until the two coworkers in that office free the desk of their things. Other plus side: that is actually the electronics lab. I enjoy working in labs and considering that one of my most common tasks is writing the interfaces with the hardware it's highly appropriated.

Ah, I see you have the machine that goes ping. This is my favorite. You see we lease it back from the company we sold it to and that way it comes under the monthly current budget and not the capital account.
The real one is a bit bigger and dirtier but the overall situation won't be *that* much different :D My current condition is Akin to this one[^] though I was searching for an image of a desk in a battlefield but found none.

Never going to happen I'm afraid, unless sabotage occurs. The shared computeer we can use to access to the Internet is out of service since a month but if someone manages to attach an access point with a private SSID without getting noticed... trouble is that many people put their dirty hands around almost daily so not going to happen.
